We maintain a fleet of more than 100 Ski-Doo snowmobiles. Every customer, single or double rider, rides a state-of-the-art touring machine offering superior performance and safety features. Our grooming equipment and trail maintenance are also second to none. With our know-how, and Lake Tahoe's natural beauty, your tour will be an experience you'll definitely want to repeat.

You can choose single or double rider machines, so kids as young as age five can ride along. Since snowmobile touring requires more good judgement than raw strength, it's great for active seniors as well. The whole family can go places they've never dreamed of!

Even if you've never ridden a snowmobile before, our experienced guides will have you up and riding comfortably, and in minutes you'll be ready to challenge the mountain.

Free shuttles to are offered from most South Shore lodging properties. You'll find a full-service lodge and clothing rentals at our registration area. Souvenir photos of you on your machine are available for purchase after your tour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How many snowmobiles are in each group?
A. We like to run eight to twelve machines in each group, with one lead guide, and one tail guide.

Q. How fast do we get to go?
A. Since our trails are very windy and are basically four-wheel and logging roads, the terrain dictates average speeds of 15 to 25 MPH.

Q. Can we fit three riders on one machine?
A. Only two riders maximum on each machine, regardless of size or weight.

Q. My twelve year old rides dirt bikes and quads. Can he drive his own snowmobile?
A. Snowmobiles weigh four to five times as much as other ATV's, so fifteen years old is the minimum age to drive. (Any exception must be cleared with a supervisor).

Q. During the tour is there a place, like a meadow, where you "turn us loose" on our snowmobiles?
A. Because of obstacles off trail, all Standard tours stay on trail between the lead and tail guides.

Q. If we rent a double rider, can we switch drivers?
A. There are 3 or 4 stops during the tour where you can trade off driving.

Q. Do you divide your riders into groups according to their ability and experience?
A. Although we do ask experienced riders to ride in the front of the line, we divide the groups by number of machines, not by experience.

Q. Can my entire family ride in the same group?
A. Yes, we don't separate friends and families.

Q. Will we see any wildlife along the trail?
A. The snowmobiles tend to scare off the local wildlife, but you may get lucky and see a few wild animals.

Q. Why can't we ride double on the Peak Performance Tour?
A. We like to ride off trail on this tour, and double rider machines get "buried" in the powder. Also, we "side-hill" a lot and double riders can't balance their machines properly.

Q. I ride Sea-Doos a lot. Does that count for experience on the Peak Performance Tour?
A. While previous experience on other forms of ATV's (All Terrain Vehicles) doesn't hurt, snowmobiles are different. No other ATV is designed to operate on snow. Therefore, some experience on a snowmobile is required for this tour.

Q. Can my family watch me snowmobile at the trailhead?
A. No. You are only at the trailhead for a few brief minutes. Once you leave, your family wouldn't see you again for almost two hours.

Q. Is the tour fun?
A. The ride is a blast. Although we advertise the ride as a scenic tour, we cover a lot of ground and ride up to almost 9,000 ft.

Q. How many miles do we ride?
A. Usually between 15 and 20, depending on the weather, etc.

Q. I've never driven a snowmobile. Can I take your tour?
A. We love first time riders. "First timers" are careful and pay attention!

Q. Are there any photo stops along the way?
A. Yes. Not only do we tour through some of the most beautiful country anywhere, we also have spectacular views of the Lake Tahoe Basin. Each tour is designed to stop at various locations for photo opportunities.
